I had a very short marital booboo which blessed me with my daughter, whom I raised on my own. I was a teacher for 38 years & a nanny for 6. For the first time in a long time my life is kind of my own and I believe my years being with little ones have kept me young in body and spirit which makes the adventures lying ahead even more exciting. Since I've been on my own so long, I don't know that I'm looking to get remarried but would like to find someone who would be open to building a friendship first and then we can see where the road might take us.

In order to start a friendship you have to get to know each other and you can only do that by asking questions and getting answers. There is nothing more frustrating than receiving monosyllabic answers. My daughter says I've never met a stranger. I love asking questions and learning about people. I would prefer to hear the truth then what someone thinks I want to hear. Conclusions are important to me so if you’re done talking with me… just say so.

I'm looking for someone that can easily laugh at life's little ups and downs (because I'm sure you'll stay laughing at my quirkiness) and enjoys the simple things in life. He needs to have a good spiritual base, be patient, kind, tolerant, considerate, and honest, open to new things/adventures, active, and healthy....I think that's a pretty good start for now!

Essays

What I'd like to do on a first date...
I'd like the first date to be laid back with no expectations; ideally sitting outside at a small restaurant or a picnic in the park (both contributing) so we could talk and comfortably get to know each other.
My past relationships have taught me...
hmmm....that I need to always be myself and not what I think others want me to be for starters. I have grown a lot since then and think I can use past mistakes as learning points to do things in a better way.
To me, being a Catholic means...

In five years, I see myself
I want to get my house and yard the way I want them. I want to visit Maine, Ireland, Europe and see more of the UK . I want to go to Denali Camp and drive Route 66. I would love to take a road trip with no real plan, just stopping and seeing when something grabs my attention, learn to work with wood to build a swing and over-sized Adirondack chairs for the yard as my first projects. I want to write a series of books about my Juj. Want to take dancing lessons, too. I want to get involved with volunteering with Nature Conservancy, Special Olympics, the zoo, Fernbank, Spivey....etc.
My favorite Bible passage is...
...."This is the day the Lord has make. Let us rejoice and be glad." This is my day starter along with, "Thank you God for this day in which to serve you and for the many blessings you will give me." I look forward to each day with which He has blessed me.
One final thing I'd like to mention...
I love ice cream and icing but not too wild about liver or brussel sprouts. I was raised in a service family. Just discovered Vegas is not my kind of town. I still play my LPs. I love putzing in hardware, second hand and junky places.I love to laugh and take joy in the simple things in life. That was one of the benefits of being a nanny. I could sit on the curb and watch a construction project and not get weird looks cuz I was with a child. I follow an eating plan called 'Eat for Your Type'. I am not controlling like they say a 'blue' is.
