Introduction
I'm starting a new path in my life and am very excited about the possible upcoming adventures. I think I have some great qualities to share but guess that will be determined by the receiver. I'm looking for a regular guy who also has some wonderful qualities among which would be having a good spiritual base, the ability to laugh, patience, kindness, tolerance, consideration, honesty, being open to new things/adventures, active, healthy,....that's a good start.

I would like to do something laid back and comfortable where we could talk easily.......sit in an outdoor restaurant/cafe, go for a walk and have a picnic, get some ice cream and go to a lake and feed the ducks...bread...NOT my ice cream!

I spent the first 2/3 of my life trying to please everyone and be what I thought they wanted me to be. I learned that didn't work. With the help of a fantastic counselor I've figured out why I was that way, packed up all that stuff, put it in a locker somewhere and threw away the key. I've learned that I am a pretty nice person who has a lot to offer a relationship as myself. If it doesn't fit with one person, that's okay. I learned it's important to really, really like each other...be best friends, to accept each other as individuals who work together to make a great union with God's presence helping us along the way. I've also learned that laughter is a wonderful ingredient.

I was raised Catholic and it is part of the core of my spiritual base but I'm not CATHOLIC any more, if that makes sense. I've had a few rocky spots on my spiritual journey but I am really at peace where I am now. I don't go to church because I'm supposed to go. If I go, it's because I want to go. The church available leaves me feeling like I'm just taking up pew space. I want to leave Mass filled...make sense? I may not make it to Mass as often as I 'should' but my faith is a working faith, which is far more important to me than just a talking one.

I retired from teaching in 2006 after 38 years in the classroom. I could no longer stomach what they were doing to our children and bucking the system was affecting my health. Not ready to stop working with children I became a nanny. I have loved it. I've been with two separate families and love my two boys as if they were my own grandchildren. It has been a joy being a part of helping to guide a little one to fill his beginning potential and setting a strong base from which he can grow. It has given me the chance to let my 'inner child' out, and I feel younger and sprier. God is showing me now that it may be time to try a new path..to fulfill some personal dreams like visit Denali Camp in Denali National Park, drive Route 66, visit Ireland and Maine, go zip-lining, skydiving and get my house shoveled out and really organized so when I return home, it will be to a nice comfy nest.

This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad....and....Through God all things are possible. Each new day is a gift from God I greet it with thanksgiving and anticipation and if a rough spot or two may show up I know it will be fine cuz I have God on my side.

I grew up as a service brat and spent most my life west of the Mississippi. I went to school in Wyoming and part of my heart and soul are still out there.
